DECIDING TO SEEK PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPY / PSYCHOTHERAPY

Embarking on any form of psychological treatment is a big decision. It does involve commitment and hard work. Although treatment supported by research is imperative, psychological treatment/ psychotherapy always works best when bespoke.
If you have decided that therapy might be a way forward for you then the first step is to make contact by filing the form below.
This provides an opportunity to answer any queries or questions you may have about psychological treatment/psychotherapy so that you can make an informed choice about whether pursuing this option is:

  • At the right time for you
  • The right intervention

With the right person (being comfortable with the psychotherapist you are proposing to work with is extremely important)
If after this initial contact we both feel that an assessment appointment would be helpful then you will be invited to an appointment at your convenience at Lasyard House, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

Therapy usually follows on shortly after the assessment appointment and involves meeting for an agreed number of appointments. Each therapy session will last for approximately 60 minutes. The nature of the sessions will be tailored specific to your particular issues in question.

Both CBT and EMDR are experiential rather than talking therapies but one of the many aspects EMDR & CBT have in common is that they are both highly collaborative. In between sessions you may be asked to undertake some additional activity before the next appointment.
